I am not currently registered in WA

I would like to become registered

In order to become a registered teacher in Western Australia, an application for registration must be completed, payment of the appropriate application fee made and then registration granted.

The various application forms detail the information that must be provided for the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) to make a complete assessment against the criteria set out in the Teacher Registration Act 2012 (Act) and in TRBWA policies.

The Act creates four categories of registration available for teacher registration in Western Australia.  Which category suits you.

Application fees

The application fee is determined on where your initial teacher qualification was completed. For information on the application fees please click here.

If the TRBWA requests mandatory information or information to support your application, this must be provided to the TRBWA in a timely manner.

Application processing times

Most applications are processed within 10 weeks. It may, however, take longer, depending on  the completeness and accuracy of the documentation and information supplied, the  complexity of the application and the time it takes for the results of the criminal record check to be returned to the TRBWA.
