Australian (national) criminal history checks - (CHC)
1. Can I obtain a copy of my criminal history check (CHC)?
No. The CHC provided by the TRBWA is for use in assessing a person's entitlement to gain registration as a teacher in Western Australia. The check is purely electronic, and no physical copies or clearance certificates are received by the TRBWA. The date of the last CHC check is included in your registration letter.
2. As my application for Teacher Registration includes a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), do I have to do another NCCHC with Department of Education (DOE) to receive a screening clearance number if I am offered a job in a DOE school or worksite?
If DOE is applying for Limited Registration on your behalf, for example for the DOE Casual Teacher and Pre-Service Teacher Fixed Term pools, you may require your DOE screening clearance number before your Limited Registration application is finalised. In this case, you will need to apply for this check separately.
