Applying for overseas criminal record checks made easier

As part of the fit and proper assessment requirements of the TRBWA, in addition to consenting to a criminal record check, applicants/teachers must provide an overseas criminal record check (OCRC) for each country they have resided in for a cumulative period of 12 months or more. This aligns with policy in other Australian jurisdictions.

If you are not currently registered with the TRBWA, you will need to provide an OCRC from each country you resided in for a cumulative period of 12 months or more in the 10 years prior to making your application.

If you are currently registered with the TRBWA, you will need to provide an OCRC from each country you resided in for a cumulative period of 12 months or more during your current registration period.

The OCRC must cover the entire time spent in each country after the age of 18 years and include all names by which the applicant has been known by in that country.

The TRBWA acknowledges that obtaining an OCRC can be a complex and time consuming process.  The TRBWA has therefore sourced fit2work as its approved provider of OCRCs.

You can apply for an OCRC using fit2work's online application process, which can be accessed here
